Restoring Hearts in Russia!

I’d like to share an opportunity for you to bring hope and light to some precious Russian women.

In January, I will be traveling to Russia and returning to the orphanage where Tim and I adopted our youngest children, Dalton and Ivy. While in this small town in Eastern Russia, I’ll have the opportunity to visit Rita (young girl who lived with us last year), and I will also have the privilege of ministering to the women who cared for my children in the orphanage. These women work day after day taking care of precious children like Dalton and Ivy.

Over the last year, a deep desire to return to Russia has developed in my heart as well as a growing love for the Russian people. God has impressed on my heart to return to the orphanage and tell the women “thank you” for giving my family the precious gift of our kids. He has shown me that very few, if any, people return to the orphanage to say “thank you.” Most leave, never to look back. By returning, a relationship will be conceived that will open doors to touch many hearts in that region for Christ.

God is placing quite a vision on my heart to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with these women and children through simple acts of love and service. Here is what I sense God asking me to do on this initial trip:

*Thank the women at the orphanage for giving Tim and I the gift of our kids;

*Serve humbly however needed;

*Share my testimony and share the Good News of Jesus Christ (Rita translates);

*Give a New Testament Russian Bible to each of the women;

*Give a financial contribution to the orphanage to help with the care of the children; &

*Present the women who work at the orphanage with simple Christmas gifts. (FYI... Christmas in Russia is January 7th so I will be there on Christmas to present gifts).

I am humbly asking you to help me give these women a gift. I need 45 women to commit to give a scarf, $15 towards the Bible, and to writing a brief letter to the women. This will ensure every woman receives a gift. Your personal letter will be a powerful testimony to God’s love. Cosmetic companies are being contacted for donations. I believe this simple act of love by you will begin to open hearts to receive Christ. It will also melt away hardness and skepticism towards Christians and Americans.

Lord willing, this will be the first of many trips to this region. I am confident that God’s love, His Word, and these tangible gifts will begin to restore hope and dreams as well as refresh broken spirits.
